Aecom awarded $3.1bn US Air Force contract

A subsidiary of US engineer Aecom has been awarded a 15-year contract from the US Air Force worth $3.1bn.

Aecom’s JT4 subsidiary will work on the Joint Range Technical Services (J-Tech II), which the client describes as an "engineering and technical expertise contract" by the US government.

While undertaking the contract Aecom will continue to provide operation, maintenance and sustainment of the western test and training ranges.

Work will be performed at:

  • The 412th Test Wing, California (pictured)
  • The Utah Test and Training Range, Utah
  • The Nevada Test and Training Range, Nevada
  • The Naval Air Warfare Centre Weapons Division, California
  • The Space Test and Training Range, Colorado.

John Vollmer, Aecom Management Services group president, said: "For many years, we have established an excellent track record of providing services through the J-Tech programme.

"We have supported testing and training missions with a commitment to safety, innovation and operational excellence.

"Our continued partnership with the US Air Force and Navy speaks to our success in safely and successfully supporting this very important programme."

The cost-plus-award-fee contract is expected to be completed by April 2033.
