An Alstom-Bombardier consortium has won a 20-year maintenance contract for a 56km suburban line in Barcelona.
The consortium will supply a European Rail Traffic Management System signalling system.
The line links L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, southwest of Barcelona, to Mataró, a city northeast of the city.
The team will deliver the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the communication systems.
The project, awarded by Spain’s Administrator of Railway Infrastructure (ADIF), has a total value of $81m.
Alstom’s share is valued at $43m and Bombardier’s $38m.
An Alstom and Bouygues team were recently awarded a $500m contract for the Manila metro.
