Developer Emaar Misr has awarded Dubai’s Arabtec Holding PJSC an AED 366 million ($98m) contract to build dozens of residential buildings for its "Greek Village" in Egypt on the Mediterranean coast.
Arabtec’s unit Arabtec Construction will build 42 townhouses, 18 residential buildings and seven bungalows, together with supporting infrastructure and landscaping. Work begins immediately and will last for 36 months, Arabtec said.Â
The Greek Village is the first of six phases in Emaar Misr’s "Marassi" development, intended to be an international Mediterranean-themed leisure destination on the Alamein coast.
"It represents the essence of Santorini through its architecture providing a Greek living experience in the heart of Egypt," said Arabtec. "Positioned on a hilltop with uninterrupted panoramic views, the units are characterised by ornamental white and blue domes that complement their design."
Arabtec Holding Group CEO Peter Pollard said: "We are excited to be working on the Greek Village and building on our relationship with Emaar Misr, which is consistent with our strategy to selectively build a solid pipeline regionally with longstanding, quality clients."
