Canada’s AtkinsRéalis has been appointed lead design consultant for infrastructure and public facilities on the first phase of an innovation and technology park between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Working for Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Parks Limited (HSITPL), its scope of work includes transport infrastructure, landscaping, utilities, underground water, plus drainage and utility networks.
The firm will draw on its experience working with local regulators, utilities and transport stakeholders. It will deploy BIM-enabled project delivery and sustainability measures.
Located in the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Co-operation Zone, the new Loop Hong Kong Park aims to boost technology collaboration between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Simon Wong, HSITPL’s chief development officer, said: “The Loop Hong Kong Park is an important platform for deepening innovation and technology collaboration between Hong Kong, the Mainland and the rest of the world, and for creating the conditions that will allow research, enterprises and talent to connect and grow.
“As Phase 1 progresses, the delivery of high-quality, connected and sustainable infrastructure will be critical to supporting the Park’s continued development.”
