Seville-headquartered digital and engineering consultant Ayesa has won two high-profile projects this month: a section of high-speed railway in Poland and a bridge in Italy.

In Poland it will design and supervise construction of a 17km section of the high-speed rail line that will link Wrocław and Łódź to the new international airport west of Warsaw.

It’s part of Poland’s Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) project, a multi-modal transportation overhaul harmonising air, rail, and roads. Under CPK, some 2,000km of high-speed rail is planned.

Ayesa opened its first office in Poland in 2009. Since then, it has worked on a new cargo terminal at Kraków John Paul II International Airport, and several photovoltaic power stations.

Over the River Po

The company also won its first engineering project in Italy when the Province of Parma picked it along with Italian engineer Enser to replace the 1.2km-long bridge over the Po River between Colorno and Casalmaggiore.

Built in 1958, the bridge once held the record for Italy’s longest.

Ayesa said it would spearhead the design of the new bridge and provide technical and economic feasibility services.

The new bridge will be built next to the old one to keep traffic flowing.
