Balfour Beatty US has started work on the $340m Concourse B project at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) in Florida.

As general contractor, it will deliver a new concourse and an approximately $100m parking garage.

Concourse B’s first phase was completed in 2023 and included a security checkpoint expansion.

Phase two involves taxiway and ramp construction, plus new airfield equipment.

The last phase is the construction of the 190,000-sq-ft Concourse B featuring six gates and passenger amenities.

The six-level parking garage will add 2,000 vehicle spaces next to the existing garage.

Dave Campbell, Balfour Beatty’s Jacksonville operations director, said: “Our project team is ready to embark on the newest expansion at JAX while working with Jacksonville Aviation Authority to support their project goals and maintain safe airport operations throughout construction.”

Construction on concourse B is due to be completed in December 2026.
