US engineering giant Bechtel has partnered with Chilean construction and industrial services company Echeverría Izquierdo Montajes Industriales S.A. (EIMISA) to target large-scale infrastructure and mining projects in the country.
Bechtel states that mining investment is growing across the region. The team aims to corner the market on delivering complex projects, with Bechtel focusing on engineering, procurement and project delivery and EIMISA with direct-hire construction.
Lucy Martin, Bechtel’s president of its mining and metals arm, said: “Delivering complex projects at scale requires more than capability, it requires the right model.
“This partnership reflects a deliberate approach to execution, combining our end‑to‑end delivery capability with EIMISA’s strong construction presence in Chile to strengthen how we deliver across the region.”
Darío Barros Izquierdo, EIMISA’s chief executive, said: “This agreement builds on a strong history of trust between our companies.
“Bechtel’s global expertise and technical resources, combined with our local knowledge and execution capability, create a powerful team to support Chile’s growing portfolio of complex projects.”
