CCCC wins $360m contract to build Singapore’s Jurong East transport hub

Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded the tender to design and build the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub (JE ITH) to China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) at a contract value of $360m (S$477.4m).

The ITH will connect the city state’s North-South and East-West rapid transit lines with the planned Jurong Region Line at Jurong East station.

It will also have a 27-storey tower connected by a sky bridge to an eight-storey podium block, housing offices, retail and public facilities, the LTA said.

Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of this year and finish around 2027.

CCCC is currently constructing Boon Lay station on the Jurong Region Line and will soon start work on the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link viaduct and tunnels.

  1. Curious as to where micromobility and walking fit into these integrated hubs as well as shared rides and shared cars.
