French civil engineer Eiffiage has expanded its presence in the Netherlands by acquiring majority stakes in two Dutch companies.

Kropman, the Dutch subsidiary of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, has acquired 70% of Harwig, a 190-employee company that designs and manufactures electrical installations. Last year, Harwig generated €26.7m in revenue and Kropman is betting that its investment will bolster its position in the electrical and fire safety market.

The company also purchased a 65% stake in Eltra, which designs and makes automation systems and electric controls. Eltra has 60 employees and generated €11.4m of revenue in 2021.

With Eltra’s acquisition, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes hopes to bring its outsourced manufacture of technology systems in-house.
