Eight killed in Guizhou car-park collapse

Investigators are trying to establish why an underground car park being built in China’s Guizhou Province collapsed yesterday, killing eight people.

Local authorities said the collapse in the Guanshanhu District of Guiyang, the provincial capital, injured two people and trapped 10 people for nearly 24 hours, Xinhua reported.

The collapse occurred at 4:21pm Monday and it took until 3am today, local time, to rescue survivors.

An investigation into the cause of the collapse is under way.
