Ferrovial will build three photovoltaic plants in Spain’s Murcia region for TotalEnergies and Soltec, and will operate them for the first two years.
The plants will have a total capacity of 116 MWp, enough to supply 30,500 homes.
Producing that much electricity by burning fossil fuels would emit 4,500 tons of carbon dioxide a year.
The company said the projects would create nearly 350 direct jobs.
The biggest of the three is the Luminora Solar Tres plant in the municipalities of Murcia and Torre Pacheco.

With 150,000 bifacial tracking solar panels, will have a capacity of 95 MWp.
Ferrovial will manage the design and construction of the facility along with a substation and a 5km-long overhead power line.
The Fuente Álamo I and II plants in Fuente Álamo municipality will have a combined 33,000 solar panels giving a capacity of 21 MWp, and an 8km-long medium-voltage line.
The plants are scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026.
Both projects will feature advanced monitoring and control systems to optimize performance, including weather stations and a security system with cameras and access control.
