
Californian contractor Granite has won a $111m contract from the Utah Department of Transportation for road works in the region.
Granite’s scope of work includes 5km of rehabilitation work on the Interstate 215, building 19km of ramps for State Road 201, Interstate 80 and California Avenue and modernisation of 22 bridges.
Jason Klaumann, Granite’s vice president of regional operations, said: “This project is multifaceted, encompassing a diverse array of components that span strategic planning, creative development, stakeholder engagement, and operational execution.
“It will keep Granite’s paving and structure crews busy through the winter and into the fall of 2026.”
Construction is due to be completed in November 2026.
