He joins Mace’s 80-strong MENA cost consultancy team and is tasked with expanding the business in the region, the company said today.

The appointment comes after the UK headquartered company revealed last week that it had achieved its goal of becoming a £2bn turnover company two years ahead of its target date of 2020.

Before this role Donaghy managed the contracts department at Dubai developer Meraas Developments, and then performed the same function at North25 Project Management.

"Paul’s first-hand experience of working for the region’s fastest growing developer – paired with his extensive knowledge of the local real estate economy – positions him well to tailor Mace’s cost consultancy services for clients," Mace said.

Donaghy holds a BSc in Construction Economics (Hons), an MSc in Pan-European Construction Management (Hons) and is currently completing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Construction Law & Arbitration.

Mark Taylor, Mace’s Regional Director for MENA, said: "Paul brings a unique perspective to Mace having worked within Meraas and North25, leading organisations, for more than six years. His understanding of a client’s needs and his experience of working on such a breadth of different projects will be invaluable. I am sure that our cost consultancy business in MENA will continue to thrive under his leadership."
