The Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex in Muscat, Oman (Mace Consult)
UK headquartered Mace Consult is overseeing project delivery for the Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex in Muscat for Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

Located on a 400,000-sq-m site in Al-Seeb, the cultural district will contain the 23,000-sq-m National Library, the 22,500-sq-m National Archives, a 13,165-sq-m cultural plaza, four facilities buildings, an 8,000-sq-m energy and data centre and a 16,300-sq-m National Theatre, which houses a two auditoria.

The facilities will be centred around an urban plaza and set within landscaped gardens, water features and a canopy structure.

Mace Consult has been leading design development, programme controls and stakeholder alignment on the project since 2022.

Thus far, the canopy structural steelwork for the complex has been substantially finished, with advances in external infrastructure and utility works, plus internal and external finishes completed.

Naveed Haque, Mace Consult’s director in Oman, said: “As one of Oman’s most significant cultural developments, the Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex will create a destination for culture, learning and community engagement.

“Through strong project and programme leadership, commercial management and collaboration, we are helping drive progress across the development, delivering value and supporting Oman’s 2040 vision.”

Dr. Samir Al Azri, project director for the ministry of culture, sports and youth, said: “This important project represents a strategic investment in our nation’s future and demonstrates the effective collaboration between the Ministry, project partners, and stakeholders.”
