Mott MacDonald poaches Cowi VP to lead Asian offshore wind

Mott MacDonald has appointed Jan Rønberg as offshore wind lead for Asia.

He spent 13 years at engineering and architecture consultancy Cowi, latterly as vice president of its offshore wind department.

Mott MacDonald has some 50 engineers specialising in offshore wind based in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, providing offshore design, port design, technology selection, site optimisation and logistics.

David Boyland, Mott MacDonald’s managing director for Asia said: “The appointment of Jan into this role reinforces our significant growth ambitions in Asia and the wider region.”

Last year, Mott MacDonald helped Japan’s Hibiki Wind Energy and lenders reach financial close on the 220MW Kitakyushu Hibikinada offshore wind farm in western Japan.
