Bechtel wins lead role on Goldboro LNG plant in Nova Scotia

Canada’s Pieridae Energy has picked US engineering giant Bechtel to help it get the liquified natural gas (LNG) facility it is planning in the eastern Canadian province of Nova Scotia off the ground.
Founded in 2011, Calgary-based natural gas explorer Pieridae is planning the Goldboro LNG facility 250km northeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia to produce LNG for sale to Europe and other markets. 
Bechtel with initiate a detailed review of the scope and design of the facility and develop a comprehensive engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) execution plan by 31 March next year.
It will also deliver a final lump sum, turnkey EPCC contract price proposal by 31 May 2021.
The engineering group will also conduct talks with the Mi’kmaq First Nations people about their participation in the construction of a large-scale work camp at the site. 
"This is a very positive step forward for our Goldboro LNG Project," said Pieridae CEO Alfred Sorensen.
