Mott MacDonald has been appointed detailed design consultant by Hindustan Construction Company-Samsung for the next phase of their joint venture to expand India’s metro system in Delhi.
The company has been involved with the Delhi Metro project for over ten years and will provide geotechnical, civil and structural engineering services for a 4.5km tunnel and construction of underground metro stations.

Mohan Gupta, Mott MacDonald’s divisional director, said: "We’re looking forward to continuing our involvement and will use our knowledge from previous phases to provide solutions in what are often challenging soft ground conditions in Delhi."
The project is due for completion in 2016.
