Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) has won a competition to design Terminal 4 of Shenzhen’s Bao’an International Airport in southeastern China.
The UK architect, together with China Northeast Architectural Design & Research Institute (CNADRI), was picked for the 400,000 sq m terminal building. When complete it will be able to accommodate 24 million international and 7 million domestic passengers a year.
The terminal, which will be the anchor for a wider "airport city" development, is based around a 10,000 sq m garden area and will come with green features such as rainwater harvesting.

Two weeks ago, a consortium of Grimshaw Architects, Mott MacDonald, the China Aviation Planning and Design Institute and Beijing Urban Construction Design and Development Group was chosen for a transport hub at Bao’an Airport.
