Salini Impregilo wins two US contracts worth $400m

Lane Construction, the US subsidiary of Italian contractor Salini Impregilo, has won contracts worth a total of $400m in North Carolina and Tennessee.

In North Carolina, Lane will work on a $346m design-and-build development to improve Interstate 440. This will include replacing the pavement and bridges, and the widening of a 10.4km stretch from four lanes to six.

Construction is due to start in early 2019 and be completed by mid-2023.

In Tennessee, Lane will upgrade a water treatment plant in Knoxville for $39m. This involves increasing the plant’s secondary treatment capacity during heavy rainfall to up to 120 million gallons per day.

The firm is currently working on two similar projects in Georgia, worth a total of $58m.
