Skanska joins with US partner to win New York subway project

Skanska and US contractor the Railroad Construction Company have signed a contract with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to repair and improve sections of the New York subway.

The joint venture will work on the Flushing Line, where it will make repairs to 61st-Street Woodside and 74th-Street Broadway, replacing escalators and making repairs between 48th Street and 72nd Street in Queens. 

The Swedish company’s share of the project is worth $150m.

Work began in September 2022 and is due to be completed by May 2025.
