Skanska lands €255m Slovakian road contract

Swedish contractor Skanska has been picked for a €255m road contract by the National Highway Authority of the Slovak Republic.

The work will involve building a 13.5km stretch of road between the villages of Lietavska Lucka and Visnove, near the border with Poland and the Czech Republic. The terrain in mountainous, and the work will include a 7.5km tunnel and seven bridges.

The project is being financed by Slovakia’s state budget and the European Regional Development Fund.

Work will begin this month and be completed by December 2023.
