Skanska spends $30m to buy 3,000 sq m of prime real estate in Washington, DC

Swedish contractor Skanska has invested $30m to purchase 0.3ha of land in Washington, DC, from real estate company Brandywine Realty Trust.

Skanska’s acquisition is at 25 M Street Southeast, about a kilometre south of the Capitol, and one of the few remaining plots in the Capital Riverfront area. It is the company’s 10th commercial venture in the Greater Washington area.

A press release states that since 2009, Skanska USA’s commercial development arm has invested $3bn in 1 million sq m of projects.
