SNC-Lavalin has obtained an extension to a master services contract serving the $331m terminal expansion project at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW).

It was awarded a five-year master services contract in 2016 but the expansion was put on hold in 2020 when the Covid pandemic caused passenger numbers to plunge.

Now, with passenger numbers back up, the contract has been extended to 2025 and the value for SNC-Lavalin is at just over $26m for support that includes design and construction administration services, the company said.

The expansion involves remodeling more than 164,000 sq ft of space and adding 117,000 sq ft to consolidate the Transportation Security Administration checkpoints into a 16-lane centralised configuration.
