Spanish infrastructure group Sacyr has been awarded a $142m contract by the Texas Department of Transport for a 13.2km bypass to US Route 59.
Sacyr will design and build a four-lane road around the town of Diboll, compete with watercourse and 28 junctions.
Sacyr has been active in the US since 2018, and has accrued a construction backlog of $640m.
Route 59 runs north to south across the US, from Texas, where it is also known as the Lloyd Bentsen Highway, to Minnesota and the Canadian border.
