Turkish architect designs UAE mosque for 2,500 people

Istanbul based firm Emre Arolat Architecture (EAA) has designed the Nora Mosque and Community Center in Ajman, in the United Arab Emirates.

The 10,000-sq-m project includes the mosque for 2,500 worshipers, educational and social space, a meditation terrace overlooking the waters of the Persian Gulf, and a road to the site.

A distinctive feature are the multiple pathways crossing not only the ground floor of the building, but also traveling along its walls and roof.

It is unclear when the project will be completed.

EAA has previously designed the Sancaklar Mosque in Istanbul which opened in 2013 and won the RIBA Award for International Excellence.
