WSP acquires New England structural engineer

Canadian engineer WSP has announced the purchase of Odeh Engineers, a 40-person structural engineering firm with offices in Providence, Rhode Island and Boston, Massachusetts.

The acquisition will grow WSP’s structural engineering business in the property and buildings sector in the New England region and strengthen its role in sectors such as healthcare, science and technology, commercial, residential, higher education, cultural and manufacturing.

Lou Cornell, WSP USA’s president, said: “The addition of Odeh will help us deliver on the goals laid out in our 2022-24 strategic plan, bringing expanded services to our complex market clients in the critical northeast region.”

David Odeh, principal of Odeh, said: “Joining WSP is exciting news for our clients and employees. We look forward to delivering the personalised client service and innovative structural engineering solutions for which we are known, while accessing the expanded network of expertise, digital tools and resources now available to us as part of WSP.”

In 2021, WSP USA bought Los Angeles-based structural engineering firm Englekirk.
