Strabag subsidiary Züblin has acquired the Austrian special civil engineering arm of Germany’s Bauer for an undisclosed price.
Züblin said the deal adds Bauer Spezialtiefbau’s piling expertise to its own supply chain providing diaphragm walls, grouting and groundwater drainage.
It will allow the combined company to cater to smaller regional projects and complex large ones in Austria.
Reinhard Kerschner, from Züblin’s management board, said: “This acquisition is an important step in our growth strategy. By merging with Bauer Spezialtiefbau Austria, we can deepen our expertise in the field of pile construction and we are very pleased to welcome the new team to our ranks.”
The team will be folded into Züblin Spezialtiefbau by 2026.
