Chinese developer Wanda Vista is to build the ninth-tallest building in the US as part of the three-tower scheme designed by Studio Gang for a former rail yard in Chicago.
The tallest of the three glass towers will be 335m in height, and all three will contain 400 apartments and a hotel.
Studio Gang is the practice founded by architect Jeanne Gang. It specialises in low-energy designs and its buildings often have a social theme.

Vista’s design is inspired by a naturally forming crystal formation called "frustum", that is found in sapphires and fluorite.
The design provides views either towards the city or skywards with "multiple column-free corner rooms on each floor".
The project is hoping to achieve a LEED Silver rating.
