Aecom has won a contract to programme-manage capital works in the effort to transform Fair Park, the historic 277-acre exposition district in Dallas, Texas with new buildings and landscaping.

A National Historic Landmark established in 1886, Fair Park already draws some six million visitors a year for the Texas State Fair, the African American Museum of Dallas, Cotton Bowl Stadium, and the Hall of State.

It has one of the largest collections of exhibition style Art Deco structures in the US.

An updated master plan proposes eight new buildings including an hotel and exhibition facilities exploring the state’s industrial history.

Existing museums will also be expanded, according to the plan.

To start, Aecom will oversee the delivery of the Community Park Complex, an 18-acre park with a 1,650-space car park.

On future projects Aecom will manage design, construction, permitting, and closeout.
