Astaldi wins string of Italian jobs from port dredging to Zaha Hadid rail station

Italian contractor Astaldi has won a string of contracts worth a total of $215m in its domestic market, including the construction of a Zaha Hadid Architects-designed rail station in Naples (pictured), as well as port and dam developments and improvements to the offices of pharmaceutical company Angelini.

The $70m contract for the Afragola High Speed Railway Station was awarded by government-owned Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane. Work is due to be completed within two years.

Astaldi was also awarded a $60m contract to dredge the Port of Taranto in southern Italy. Astaldi will modernise the container terminal, increase the depth of water by more than 2.5m and remediate contaminated sediment. Work on the project is expected to last for a year.

Astaldi will also undertake structural, systems and civils works on the Rome offices of Angelini (pictured), a contract that is worth $35m.

An Astaldi consortium was recently awarded a contract to build a terminal at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago.
