Balfour Beatty JV wins $95.9m Abu Dhabi contract

Balfour Beatty has won a $95.9m contract to carry out mechanical engineering services on a new terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The contract was awarded to Power Transmission Gulf, part of Balfour Beatty’s UAE-based joint venture BK Gulf.

Power Transmission Gulf is the major partner (40%) for the contract, in joint venture with China State and Emirates Falcon Electromechanical Company.

Together the firms will carry out mechanical engineering work on the new Abu Dhabi International Airport Midfield Terminal Building.

Once complete, the new terminal building will accommodate up to 65 aircraft, with an expected capacity of 30 million passengers per year.

The project is due for completion by September 2016.
