BAM and Heijmans aim to create joint venture asphalt company

Dutch construction firms BAM and Heijmans have applied to create merge their asphalt operations.

The firms have to receive a permit from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM), which will ascertain whether the venture would be in breach of competition laws in the asphalt and road building markets.

In a press release, BAM says the reasons for creating the joint venture would be to combine knowledge and investments in asphalt innovation and to increase sustainability of the asphalt chain.
