Cimic subsidiary Leighton Asia has won a US$122m (A$190m) contract from local developer Elan Group to build a 728-unit residential project, “The Presidential”, in the northern Indian city of Gurgaon.

The 487,000-sq-m project includes building eight, 32-storey towers, each 116m in height. A three-level common basement will connect the site.

The development is targeting a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

“We are pleased to be working with one of India’s leading real estate developers to support the ongoing growth of the Gurgaon district,” said Cimic executive chairman Juan Santamaria.

Construction is due to begin in October 2023 and is expected to finish in the first quarter of 2027.
