CIOB marks World Quality Day with first-of-a-kind conference

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has announced the first ever World Quality Day Conference.

CIOB President Mark Beard will open and close the conference on Thursday 12 November 2020 from 9.30am – 2.00pm GMT as Quality is the focus of Mark’s Presidential year.

World Quality Day (WQD) is celebrated annually on the second Thursday in November to help to raise the profile and highlight the positive impact of quality in organisations. 

"It is a key opportunity for construction to recognise the role that quality plays in building and sustaining trust in the industry and beyond," the CIOB said.

"Quality is a global issue for our industry and as members of the world’s largest professional body for construction management and leadership, we all have a responsibility to work to create a better industry."

It noted that the is being reshaped by legislation, including the UK’s new Building Safety Bill.

Speakers include Lorna Stimpson, CEO of the Local Authority Building Control, Anne Bentley, Global Director of Rider Levitt Bucknall and member of the Construction Leadership Council, and Geoff Wilkinson, Managing Director of Wilkinson Construction Consultants Limited.

This event will explore what the future might hold for the built environment, the future of construction quality and the possibilities for our homes and places of work.
