CIOB offers thousands of pounds for scholarship that sheds new light on industry

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has opened applications for a suite of unique scholarships which offer cash to construction professionals who want to take time out to research solutions to industry problems.

New this year is the Construction Innovation scholarship, which offers £10,000 to a professional, academic or student anywhere in the world picked to probe a new idea or concept that would help the industry. Candidates must be CIOB members of any grade.
Applications for this scholarship close on Friday, 4 December 2020.
Also on offer is the Sir Ian Dixon scholarship, a £3,000 grant for UK companies to develop the potential of their staff through research. Successful candidates will undertake a research project that will benefit the scholar, their company and the industry. They work full time during the scholarship year.

The £3000 Sustainability scholarship encourages a UK company to carry out research on sustainability using one of its employees. 
The candidate will meet with experts every few months to receive support and mentoring, and will give a presentation, hosted by their company, to share their findings at the end of the 12-month scholarship period.
