Ground has broken on a 2.3-million-sq-ft production, manufacturing and distribution facility for drinks makers Red Bull and Rauch, and can maker Ball Corporation, in Concord, North Carolina.

The site will have space for 170,000 pallets and areas for manufacturing, packing, warehousing and deliveries. Internal conveyor bridges will be used for intralogistics.

The facility was first announced in 2021. At that time, the facility was to be completed in 2027 at an estimated cost of $700m.

Now, the factory is due to be finished by 2028.

It’s due to reach its maximum filling capacity of three billion cans a year by 2031.
