Hill International’s Turkish acquisition strengthens position in Middle East

Construction risk management firm Hill International has acquired an Istanbul-based project manager called IMS Proje Yonetimi ve Danismanlik. The Turkish firm, which has about 80 employees, specialises in project management services for commercial developments.

Serdar Gucar, president of IMS, will become the managing director of Turkish operations for Hill’s project management group. He said: "IMS has always been a delivery-focused company and this is the main factor in our successful track record. The blend of our two companies’ cultures will enhance the value delivered on our projects and will improve our ability to meet our clients’ expectations and requirements."

David Richter, the chief executive and president of Hill, said the deal strengthened the company’s project management resources and capabilities "not just in Turkey but throughout the region".

IMS, which was founded in 1989, has worked on commercial real estate projects in central Asia, eastern Europe, north Africa and the Middle East.
