2.7km lagoon added to Dubai Riviera development

A "crystal" lagoon covering 13ha will be added to the Riviera development under construction at Mohammed Bin Rashid City (MBR City) in Duba.

The lagoon-cum-swimming pool will contain 51.5 million gallons of water and stretch across the full Riviera development. Swimmers who use it as a transport route will be able to climb out and visit artisan eateries and boutiques along its 2.7km length.

Azizi Developments, the real state firm behind the Rivera, has worked with MBR City developer Nakheel to add the lagoon to the scheme, thereby allowing it to market 16,000 waterfront homes.

The Rivera will also house a green social space called "Les Jardins" and will be located close to the Meydan One Mall and the Meydan Racecourse, which will host the Dubai World Cup.

Farhad Azizi, Azizi Developments’ chief executive, said: "It is rare that we get to add so much value, at absolutely no additional charge to our valued customers, in the form of such a colossal surprise. We are ecstatic to announce the addition of our very own crystal lagoon in the heart of MBR City, as part of our Riviera community."
