Ferrovial’s $48.6m job to link Medellín to the sea

A consortium led by Ferrovial Agroman has been awarded a contract worth $48.6m to build a road giving Medellín access to the Pacific Ocean in northwest Colombia.

Ferrovial Agroman, construction subsidiary of Spanish firm Ferrovial, will work with Colombia’s Colpatria to build 4.1 km of road and four bridges.

Ferrovial Agroman already has several projects under way in the country, including construction of the tunnels for the Ituango hydroelectric power plant, worth $74.3m.
