Samsung Engineering has signed a $650m contract with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), for a new ammonia and urea manufacturing complex in Sumgayit city near Baku, in Azerbaijan.

Samsung Engineering is responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and 
pre-commissioning on a lump-sum turnkey basis with completion set for 2016.
Park Ki-Seok, Samsung Engineering’s President and CEO, commented: "We are pleased to be awarded our first project in Azerbaijan and we believe that this contract will bring us further opportunities in the CIS region."
