Skanska has signed a US$160m contract to build the underground Skøyen metro station in Oslo, Norway.
Located 45m below ground, the two track station will serve the Fornebubanen metro line, with an access point on either side of Hoff street
Skanska’s scope of work includes technical installations such as ventilation, electrics, elevators and escalators, concrete works, shafts, outdoor areas, access buildings, finalisation works in pre-excavated tunnels, and additional works to be carried out at Madserud, Bestum and in the tunnel towards Majorstuen.
Skøyen is one of Oslo’s busiest public transport hubs, with the new station increasing the metro’s capacity and connectivity between train and bus services.
Skanska says that the project will spotlight energy efficiency.
Construction on the station is due to begin in September 2025 and to be completed in 2029.
