Exemplary projects sought for COP26 Built Environment Virtual Pavilion

The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) and more than 100 partner organisations including the CIOB have launched an international open call for projects to feature in a virtual pavilion for the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021.

The pavilion will explore sustainability themes through a digital exhibition of global projects and places, as well as events and downloadable content.

The initiative seeks global projects, built or planned, that show the built environment sector tackling the climate and ecological crisis.

The deadline for entries is a minute before midnight on Monday, 2 August.

Information for entry can be found here (PDF).

Submissions are expected to exhibit outstanding performance against at least one of the Virtual Pavilion’s environmental themes: climate mitigation, climate adaptation, natural resource use, and nature and biodiversity – whilst demonstrating how they also benefit people and communities. The final exhibition will feature a diversity of project types, with different contexts and geographies, each of which will have a virtual space within the exhibition.
