Taiwan has announced that a memorandum of understanding has been signed with the Kyiv city government to build a $2.5m bridge to the city’s Obolon Island.

Some $1m in funding will also come from the Greater Paris Metropolitan Region. More will be provided by other international donors, according to a press release from the Taiwanese ministry of foreign affairs.

The New Voice of Ukraine reports on a statement from Kyiv’s mayor that the 164m-long bridge has been under construction since 2020.

It was recently announced that South Korea and Poland had agreed to spend $52bn on Ukrainian reconstruction projects, including dams, schools, houses and hospitals.
