Nominations now open for CIOB Rising Star Award

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has opened applications for a second year for its international CIOB Rising Star Award celebrating people who have been in the construction industry for seven years or fewer and have demonstrated excellence in their work, the industry and amongst their peers.

The award is free to enter and open to professionals around the world, nominated by their employers.

Judges will seek evidence of excellence within the timeframe of the last 12 months.

The closing date for the Rising Star nominations this year is Friday 18 June.

The CIOB Rising Star Award is presented at the prestigious Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA), which last year was hosted by renowned architect and TV presenter George Clarke FCIOB.

This year CMYA plans to be back at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on 29 September 2021 to celebrate all the finalists and winners.

Caroline Gumble, Chief Executive of CIOB, said: "I am delighted to announce that the CIOB will be running the Rising Star award again this year. Last year’s Rising Stars were acknowledged as dedicated and truly professional and I’m sure they’ll be among the future leaders of our industry. It’s so important to recognise new and emerging talent, especially at a time when our industry is facing a skills shortage, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing who makes the shortlist this year."
