Skanska to build school for $113m in Washington State

Swedish contractor Skanska has signed a $113m contract with Highline Public Schools in America’s north west state of Washington.

Skanska will demolish the existing high school in the city of Burien, King County, and build a 22,000 sq m development that will be used by 1,500 pupils.

The school will contain general and specialised classrooms, a theatre, career and technical education spaces, multiple gyms, and tennis courts.

Construction work on the 13-acre project has begun and is due to be completed in June 2021.
