Skanska picked to build Finland’s largest hotel

Swedish contractor Skanska has won a €86m contract to build Finland’s largest hotel, next to Helsinki Airport.

The project, which is being developed by Lak Real Estate, is to be called the “Comfort Hotel”. Its 37,800 sq m will be made up of 700 rooms, five restaurants and conference venues.

The hotel will be operated by the Nordic Choice Hotels and is expected to receive a LEED Gold certification.

Construction is due to begin next month and be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
