Swedish contractor Skanska has won a design-and-build contract worth €56m in Houston and will invest €45m in a residential project (pictured) in Helsinki.

In the US, Skanska will work with Texan joint venture partner Indi Construction on a €62m tenant improvement contract. Work on the 130,000 sq m unit includes building a receiving centre and installing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Construction is due to begin this month and be completed in January 2024.

In Finland, Skanska will invest €45m in a 78-unit seaside residential complex consisting of apartments and townhouses, communal space, a sauna, laundry room and bicycle park. The building is hoping to receive an RTS Environmental Classification and will store energy generated by solar panels and sea water heated by the sun.

Construction started this month and is due finish by the first quarter of 2025.
