$500m casino planned by Caesars in Virginia

American casino and hotel magnate Caesars Entertainment has announced that Baltimore-headquartered Whiting-Turner will be general contractor for the $500m Caesars Virginia resort in the city of Danville, Virginia.

Caesars Virginia will have a casino with 1,400 slot machines and table games, a World Series of Poker Room, 500-room hotel with spa, pool and gym, 40,000 sq ft of meeting and convention space and a 2,500 capacity venue.

Robert Livingston, Caesars Entertainment’s senior vice president of development, said: “Caesars Entertainment is thrilled to be working with Whiting-Turner to build Caesars Virginia.

“We are confident Whiting-Turner, and their proven record of success, will make for an incredible partner to build the world-class resort we’ve promised the City of Danville.”

Work on the project is due to be completed by 2023 and will create 600 construction jobs and 1,300 operational jobs.
